Origin

Province Brands of Canada was founded in 2016, with a vision to brew the world's first "cannabis beer". During the course of extensive R&D, Province Brand's scientists discovered a proprietary  conversion technology capable of producing food-grade sugars from cellulosic plant waste biomass. The other clear finding is that the company can make beer from these sugars but it is much more profitable to compete in the global alternative sugar markets.

Evolution

In 2023, Province Brands moved to a focus on commercializing its natural plant-derived sugar substitute: Harmoni The company’s technology development and plans to commercialize Harmoni continues, along with studies to confirm the sugar production technology can be applied to most plant species. Progress is also being made in understanding the favorable health impact of Harmoni over other sugar substitutes on the market. Future revenue will be generated through the sale of Harmoni syrups from various plant sources as well as Harmoni -powered products in the food, brewing, beverage, and wellness markets - with the potential for both human and animal applications. The company has formulated both beer and beverages to date and is moving forward to formulate new food products such as sauces, marinades and chocolates.
